Sorry for the delay fellows.. Dayton!! And recovery!!
I'll get back to all those requesting JPGs of the K3 main tuning knob with covers shortly. Lots of interest. 73, lynn W4NL ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I found one of the knob covers at Dayton (it always amazes me what's in the flea market there!). The ring fits over the K3 knob easily. It has a rubber ridge on the inside of the ring that conforms to the Ten-Tec knobs, but tends to stick up a bit on the K3's knob. It's not a perfect, seamless fit, and there is a small gap between the edge of the rubber ring and the knob on the K3 (very minor). It does work and feels nice, so if you like a softer grippier feel, it's worth a try until Elecraft decides to offer one tailored to fit the K3 (hint, hint).

Lou,
I am not certain what all of you are trying to accomplish with the Ten-Tec (or other) knob rings. Do you remove the rubber ring that is supplied with the K3 knob? Or do you put it over the top of the existing rubber ring? The stock K3 rubber ring seems just fine to me. 73, Don W3FPR W0FK wrote: > I found one of the knob covers at Dayton (it always amazes me what's in the > flea market there!). I slide it over the top of the K3 ring. It feels softer and "gripper" to me. That is based on about 5 minutes of knob twiddling, so whether I keep it on remains to be seen.
