Laptops/Notebook suggestions

Millerhill
I'm a mac guy and have a 27" iMac which has MacLoggerDeluxe on it. After using a couple of different programs over the last year, I'm thinking that it might be more useful to have a notebook or laptop (small) that will fit into my small space with my radio (a K2). Seems like logging software on the mac side is limited in terms of functionality.

I'm thinking I want to run N1MM logger, but am up to suggestions. I do run the occasional contest or two, but I'm not what you would call a contester per se.

I use and highly recommend DL2RUM's great software.

RUMlog for radio control, Cluster monitoring and logging and RUMped for contesting.

Steve, I have numerous computers of various sizes and shapes. I just got a
new Asus 11.6" laptop, Core I3, with Win 8 and a touchscreen(!) Win 8 is
just a nuisance without the touchscreen, but it's great with the
touchscreen. This setup is awesome; the computer has plenty of power, runs
all heavy-duty Win software including Office, boots in 12 seconds, weighs 2
pounds, goes with me everywhere, and would be great for use with your K2.
And it was only 500 bucks on sale at Micro Center.

I really like my MacBook Pro. It's replaced my floor model PC towers. I have an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. If I have to use windoze, I have it running in Parallels.

I have to agree with Rick about the DL2RUM software. I tried MLD, and really didn't like it.

Hi Steve

You could get yourself a Macbook of some sort (my wife loves her Macbook
Air, after many years with Windows).  I run Parallels Desktop on Mac and
it is great - all my Windows-based software & hardware development tools
work fine, and I have instant access to the Mac side with one 4-finger
swipe :-)
