For some reason my Spysweeper reports the latest updater (1.0.11.19) as
trying to install the adware program "Give4Free". It may be a false positive and a problem with the anti-spyware program rather than Elecraft software. Anyone else getting a similar problem? 73 Dave, G4AON _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I renewed my subscription and updated Spysweeper today before doing an
update. It did block it but only because it was set to block exe files. I went into the setup in Spysweeper to ask first instead of auto blocking. When I ran setup again Spysweeper asked as it should and it ran just fine. 73 Greg AB7R -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of Dave G4AON Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2007 10:13 PM To: [hidden email]; wayne burdick; [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] Latest updater reported as Spyware! False alarms are an unfortunate fact of life, but this site scans uploads using more than a dozen different scanners to give you a consensus of opinion as to whether it's harmful. -- Julian, G4ILO K2 s/n: 392 K3 s/n: ??? FYI: Here at work neither "Spybot - Search & Destroy" nor "Trend Micro" reported
any problems. vy 73 de toby _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. For Windows users who don't currently run a Spyware detector but are
considering doing so now after being alerted by this discussion, please be careful when picking one as there are many "free download" programs which claim to be spyware checkers and have lookalike names similar the ones discussed, but are in fact themselves spyware, trojan horses, or other malware.
