HI,
Amongst my old PCs I have one (AMD A4-3330) that I have installed Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS on. I’m very new to Linux but I am very impressed as to how well it works. Following on from the thread “Has anyone tried Ubuntu” What applications do Linux users use with their K3 for both logging and panadapter? I have an SDRplay that I use with Log40M and HDSDR in Windows that could be deployed to a Linux system if it is suitable. Many Thanks Clive G8POC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
Clive,
I’m experimenting with CQRlog on Ubuntu 18.04. I’m to the point of rig control, CW via WinKeyer & general logging. My rig is KX3. The system works well. I’m in certain as to how much further I’ll go as my DXLABS set up on W10 functions very well. Also, I’ve not found a good contest logging program for Linux. I am also interested in the answers to this question. Also, has
anyone gotten N1MM to run under Wine? 73 Bill AE6JV On 8/2/19 at 4:47 AM, [hidden email] (Clive Lorton) wrote: >Following on from the thread “Has anyone tried Ubuntu” What applications do >Linux users use with their K3 for both logging and panadapter? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill Frantz | When it comes to the world | Periwinkle (408)356-8506 | around us, is there any choice | 16345 Englewood Ave www.pwpconsult.com | but to explore? - Lisa Randall | Los Gatos, CA 95032 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

I've documented that here: https://www.n0nb.us/blog/2018/12/running-n1mm-logger-with-wine-on-debian-buster/ As for things like running another program with it like Fldigi or WSJT-X, I've not tried that. Ideally, it would be nice if the communication between N1MM+ in Wine and any of the other programs running as native Linux apps would work, but I've not tried this as of yet. 73, Nate, N0NB -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds.
