Long Island QRP Club

Jeff-229
Hi gang,

Please excuse the bandwidth, but every few years, I like to let the list
know that Long Island, New York has a QRP club.  Many of our members are
also Elecrafters, and there must be a number of people on the Elecraft list
who live in the Long Island vicinity, but do not know that the LIQRP Club
exists.  We're a small, informal group with no bylaws and no dues.  Our
meetings are never boring, because we have no minutes to read and no formal
business.  Our next get-together is Saturday, Nov. 18.  Reply to this
message for details.  In good weather we meet outdoors at Sunken Meadow
State Park, put up antennas in the trees, and try out a variety of QRP rigs.
During the winter we meet at Nicky's restaurant in Centerport, where we have
show-and-tell and have even been known to get on the air from inside the
restaurant with an indoor antenna.  (Nicky's is very indulgent of our
eccentricities. :-)

Reply to this message to join the LIQRP Club and be assigned your own
membership number.  It's free and you don't have to live in the area to
join.

Everyone, whether or not you live on Long Island, is welcome to subscribe to
the LIQRP Club email list.  Reply to this message, if you want me to
subscribe you, or you can subscribe yourself at http://www.qth.net/  (Click
on "Directory of Email Lists," scroll down to LIQRP, click on it, and follow
the instructions given to subscribe.)  The volume of messages on the LIQRP
list is small, so you will NOT be deluged with messages, but feel free to
use it as a place to ask questions and discuss QRP.

Also, visit the club's modest web site at http://www.qsl.net/liqrp/

If you live in the Long Island vicinity, or find yourself visiting, then by
all means join us at Nicky's on Nov. 18.

Please forward this message to any QRPers you know who live on Long Island,
as they may not yet know about our club.

Thanks for the bandwidth.

73 & 72,
Jeff, WB5GWB

Does anyone know of a similar group in the Las Vegas, NV area? Either
QRP or Elecrafters or both.

Thanks,
