I use M1-M4 on each band as follows:
M1 = CW default frequency (usually the band edge) and BW = 400 Hz M2 = SSB default freq (i.e. 14.195) and BW = 2.8 KHz M3 = PSK default freq, Mode = Data A and BW 2 KHz M4 = RTTY default freq, Mode = AFSK A and BW = 250 HZ. That's what I would like to do anyway. The problem is, M3 and M4 do not remember the correct BW setting. Regardless what is stored, if I for instance recall M4 (RTTY) after having just stored all of this in sequence, I will get the memorized 250 Hz BW. If I then recall M3, I will have the *same* 250 Hz BW, not the expected 2 KHz BW previously stored in M3. Apparently, my K3 isn't smart enough to know that Data A and AFSK A are different modes so recalling one or the other recalls the last used BW. Am I missing something? ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I'll change this so it stores a separate bandwidth for each DATA sub-mode. 73, Wayne N6KR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Thank you.

What would be even more exciting is for people who use things this
way.... Why not remember the last frequency you were on in that segment rather than simply recalling a frequency.... Similar to the way that memories 0-9 can work as band recalls then M1-M4 could become segment recalls that actually remember where they were at the time. Hopefully when doing the segment recall the SCAN feature wouldn't be broken so that one could still use it to scan a band segment. ~Brett On Tue, May 3, 2011 at 8:50 AM, Wayne Burdick <[hidden email]> wrote: > Wes Stewart wrote: > >> ...Data A and AFSK A are different modes [but] recalling one or the >> other recalls the last used BW. >> >> Am I missing something? > > Wes, > > At present the K3 stores one bandwidth for DATA mode.
