In the menu you will need to set MIC SEL to FP.L You can toggle it by pushing the #1 key and turn the Bias off in the same menu by toggling with the #2 Key. If you have the Fred Cady book a whole list of parameters for different Microphones are listed on Page 279.

That mic has a built in preamp, even though it is a dynamic mic. You might consider that and lower your mic gain setting in the K3.

I have been running a MC-60A on my K3s great results. Just recently
switched to a Heil PR-781 on a boom

OK, yes - put it on the "to do" list...

I have had the "same" issue with my KX3. Adjusting the TX EQ, CMP, and
Mike gain.

OK, I would like to see for the K4, a built-in APP that will adjust all
three by (speaking the phonetic alphabet ?? or other) and specifying
wide, normal, or DX. Well, I can dream. I have a couple of different
headsets and even from Heil, they all have different elements. Need
different settings. How nice (for Field Day for example) to be able to
sit down in front of the radio and have the radio, tune to your voice...

It must be possible???
