MCU 4.47

Tobyp
I have been using the latest BETA release and notice that the Auto Notch produces distortion when engaged.  It is far too agreeeive. Manual notch works well. Have others noticed this?

I would prefer the Notches to be inside the AGC loop as this does not desense the received signal when a strong signal is being notched.  IS it too late to change the Notch to operate within the AGC circuit?

Also,  noticed that there possibly could be some
TX audio impact with 4.47,  making the audio rougher than normal...  This might be due to the solar storms lately,  so will need to do some more testing. Anyone else notice this?

Loss of AGC operation whicle using HRD has been improved quite a bit with 4.47.,

I am back to MCU 4.39 to see if the TX audio improves,  or if it just is being affected by the solar storms.

I have had distortion with Auto Notch going back more than a year.  I don't remember which firmware update changed it but it's bad enough that I don't use it anymore.  I use the manual notch instead.  I have mentioned this in the forum but doesn't sound like a lot of others notice it but the distortion is pretty bad on my K3.

I do note audio distorion on RX with the auto-notch.  I'll follow up to
Bill's other message.

Also, Bill noted the TX audio distortion with 4.47 in this message back
on 09 Jan:

http://www.mail-archive.com/elecraft@.../msg128568.html

I was the culprit with the P3.  ;-)  His signal that evening was
considerably wider than with 4.39 on the P3 and it sounded quite
compressed at the compression and mic gain settings he used with
4.39 and prior.
