I am running a MacBook Pro with my K3. In WSJT-X, the audio will work fine for awhile. The audio switches back to the internal IO in the computer. I have to restart the program to make it work again. I have the upgraded KIO3B installed. What am I doing wrong?? W9OD

Look at your computer for the answer.
There have been several reports of "strange things happening" with WSJT-X from MAC users lately. I can't say whether the problem is the MAC OS or the WSJT-X software's interaction with the OS. Windows users do not seem to have similar problems. Maybe the MAC is like my new car, its computer thinks it is smarter than I am. 73, Don W3FPR On 4/3/2018 11:53 AM, Craig Taylor wrote: > I am running a MacBook Pro with my K3. Craig,
You are doing nothing wrong. Many folks have had this issue with Macs, including me. One way is to use a USB—>Thunderbolt adapter; it appears that several years ago Apple changed something in the way USB2 is handled in the OS and the result is audio occasionally getting sent to the internet speakers instead of the USB Audio CODEC. That adapter thing is how I resolved it on my MacBook Pro. Another way, and the one I use on my iMac that does not have a Thunderbolt port, is to bring up the MIDI application and set the USB Audio CODEC input and output to 44100 Hz instead of the recommended 48000 Hz. That has cured it for me and many others. You could also try that on your MacBook instead of using an adapter - up to you.I like the adapter method, as it frees up my USB port for other “stuff”. 73, Jim / W6JHB > On Apr 3, 2018, at 8:53 AM, Craig Taylor <[hidden email]> wrote: > > I am running a MacBook Pro with my K3. I can’t add anything specific to resolve your issue. All I can say is that I have been using WSJT-X (currently v1.9.0 - rc2 r8533) with my K3S with absolutely no problems. I simply connect the the 2 with a USB cable and follow the instructions to set it up. Perhaps the problem is related to having a K3 and an external sound card? Sorry, I should have added that I am using a MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra, 10.13.4.

Just a heads up ... on WSJT-X, there is an updated v1.9.0-RC3 on K1JT's
website that WILL be needed for the 'Fox & Hounds' live test this coming Saturday, April 7th. It has many fixes for the DXpedition mode.
