I have used homebrew and AlexLoops many times. I like the very fast setup and noise-nulling capability of the AlexLoop. They are very light and compact. I prefer AlexLoops to my own homebrews. I think Alex hit the optimum portable QRP design point perfectly. One of my homebrew loops will substantially outperform an AlexLoop, but it weighs 35 lbs and stays in the garage.
