Magnetic shielding Kit for T5 (K2)

Michael Pisani
I have completed the second phase of assembly.  Everything has
checked out perfect.  However, I installed the magnetic shielding
option for T5.  All my voltage readings are right on except for one,
the high end of 80 meters, (4000).

My voltage is 7.9.  All others are 3,4 to 4.5.  they say if some of
the voltages are less than 1 volt and or greater than 7.5, the
windings 1/2 will need to be adjusted.  I tried that and no change on
the 7.9. but the others shifted, still in the correct dc voltage
range.  Do I need to be concerned with this, or is it good ??

Thanks

Yes, you will have to lower the voltage.

It is difficult to see if you are moving the turns of T5 in the correct
direction if you observe the 7.9 volt point because that is the maximum
voltage that you are likely to see (it is almost 8 volts and the driving
opamp is being driven to the high voltage rail.

All the voltages will reduce during the process of getting the 4000kHz point
to tune with 7.5 volts or less.  Tune downward to a frequency that gives you
a voltage less than the 7.9 volts, and then manipulate the turns of T5 to
reduce that voltage by about half a volt - then recheck the voltage at 4000
kHz - repeat as required.  When you have the 4000 kHz point in range, check
all the other band edges to be certain they are also in range.
