Manual Pics and text discrepancy

manual a split washer is used for this type mounting. I could be wrong ...

Actually the text does not say that.  Rather, it states "Be certain you use
a split lock washer between the KREF3 board and the PEM nut attached to the
shield."  Further, the drawing and accompanying detail text show and
describe that the lock washer under the screw head should be of the inside
tooth variety.
