Gents,
I thought that you might like to know that in the early morning (0700Z) of
June 24th, while operating my KX1, SN1151, and Buddipole in a vertical
configuration and wire counterpoise, I was able to have an enjoyable (but
short) QSO with F6GCP, Pat on 14.028.
I had set up near the beach on Maui, and conditions to Europe were great.
He called me after I had finished working Dennis, KE7DSE.
I calculate this to be a distance of approx 6450NM. While probably not a
record, still not bad for 2 watts! Only goes to show that these little
radios are not toys, they really do work!
