Maybe not quite yet

K5WA
Chris,

You may want to recalibrate your shipping estimate by a few days.  I have
just received notice that my K3/100 kit (100% prepaid- 50% deposit with
order and the second 50% paid in August upon original shipping estimate)
will ship in "7-10 days".  I am extremely happy to have finally bubbled up
to the top of the shipping list and am counting the minutes now.  ;-)

Hopefully, my second K3/100 (ordered on Oct 29th) will show up in
March/April and I will have completed the replacement of my SO2R contest
station from K2s to K3s.

Best of luck in these exciting times!

Yes, I think it has slipped another week. I was quoting from the 27
December update which specifically said 4th-9th May orders with deposits
would be shipped by 11 Jan. Looks like 8/9 May orders will now be
shipped this week. There was certainly some activity over the wekend at
Aptos including Sunday! so it is gathering momentum. Have fun.

When checking you have all the bits, you should also check that all the bits are OK.

My internal screen panel was missing a threaded insert for a vital screw to go into, and the KIO3 back panel has the text printed on the wrong side!

Neither are show stoppers, although I'll apparently get RX birdies with the faulty screen. But because I don't wish to disassemble the front panel and the various modules that mount on the screen, I've put assembly on hold until the replacement parts arrive. :(

Scratched screen

Ken Kopp
Julian,

I think you're referring to the shield immediately behind the
front panel ...

Mine (S/N 56) was badly scratched, as if the sub-contractor (?)
had carelessly tossed it into a bin with others as they came off the
punch press or bending brake.  It was also wrapped in thin tissue
paper, unlike the sturdy brown wrapping paper that protected the
rest of the metal parts.  I wonder if this was the case with your
screen/shield?

A 'phone call brought me a quick replacement. (:-))
