Menu display errors

I am a newer K3 owner. When I am in the MENU or CONFIG menu and I turn the B VFO knob to select a menu item many times a menu selection comes up as junk characters. If I then turn past the item and back to it it reads correctly on the display.  This happens frequently while dialing through the menu items. Is this common or do I have something to worry about?  Thanks and 73  Keith W8GX
