Missing cap

Patrick Bourgeois

Just opened my KP100 to start construction, while doing inventory, I have found that I am missing Part# E530098 Cap. 220fF ("221") 5% 1Kv Disc 0.2 LS.  I have carried on with the construction as far as I could since this is the weekend, and did not figured I could get a part orded till Monday.  I have reached the part where the first test are performed though so I have stopped there until I can aquire this Cap.  Sigh,, Same thing happen with my K2 just one Cap was missing from it too, when I first built it about 2 years ago. Re: Missing cap

I went through everything with a "fine tooth comb" and this cap was not in the parts bag, nor had it worked itself out of the bag and into the general box.  It is also a rather large cap as disc caps go so not as easy to hide in something. From: [hidden email]

You're probably already aware but sometimes missing parts can appear wedged into other parts - on a couple occasions I swore parts were missing but I'd find a tiny cap stuck inside the inside of a knob or something....

Re: Missing cap

Pat,

If you were aware enough to "not install" the missing capacitor at the
C2x location, then you can move on to the following tests except for
anything related to 160 meters. OTOH, if you hsd one of the C3x
locations blank, you will have to wait until Elecraft ships you a
replacement capacitor.

Super Don you come through as usual you are really an asset to this mail list Sir!  My thanks, I was looking through the schematic to try and determine that what if any test I could do and you just answered that must faster.  It was C2B that I left out there were suppose to be 3 and I had only 2 in my package.  Well I will carry on as far as I can go with the test and keep you posted.   Cheers!
