I am running an Elecraft K3 and a KPA1500 amplifier. I use the DXLab
Suite of programs for logging, rig control and so on. If I do a manual band change on either the K3 or using the KPA1500 and change back and forth between 15m and 40m, the side band changes appropriately. If I do it using the Commander Bandspread window buttons and go from 15 to 40, it stays in USB. I can then do a MODE ALT to get the correct mode, but it doesn't stick if I go back and forth. FWIW, going to 80 has the same issue... I suspect the K3/KPA1500 set are working correctly since the only misbehavior is when I do it with Commander. Has anyone else seen this, fixed it, or have any hints? ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
The Band buttons in DXLab Suite/Commander's Bandspread window are each a band stack. They store the last five frequencies visited on each band. If the last frequency/mode on 40 meters was USB, that is what will be recalled. If the last frequency on 40 meters was CW, that will be recalled. You can step through the five frequencies by repeated clicks on the band button. Note: the frequency/mode is saved in the band stack *after* the dwell time has expired. If your dwell time is 30 seconds but you bounce around every 5 seconds, the band stack will not be updated See the Help file for Commander (click the Help button in Commander's Bandspread window and select "actions in the Bandspread window"). 73, ... FWIW, going to 80 has the same issue... + "Changing frequency via the Bandspread window" + "Commander remembers the last 5 frequencies you visited on each band, and the mode in use for each such visit; this information is stored in a Band Stack associated with each band. If you QSY the radio, and then let it remain on a frequency for longer than the dwell time setting, the new frequency and mode will be saved on the appropriate Band Stack. The Bandspread window's Band panel contains a button for each band between 160m and 33cm. Clicking a band button sets the radio's frequency to the most recent frequency used on that band, sets its mode to the mode in use at that time, and clears Split; the Band Stack is then advanced, so that clicking the same band button a second time sets the frequency/mode to the next-most-recent frequency/mode used on that band. Using this mechanism, you can QSY to the most recent 5 frequencies." https://www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/Help/ChangingFrequency.htm#Changing%20frequency%20via%20the%20Bandspread%20window 73, Dave, AA6YQ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
