My $0.02 worth on some changes

David F. Reed-2
Not having been asked, but I will toss a couple of things out here in
spite of that.

 1. Like others, I would love to see the K3 more resilient to power
outages, as in not needing front switch shutdown to start properly
    (i.e. unplug, plug in tolerant)

 2. I would also (for DXpedition, field day, etc.) like to see
"transportable settings" like saving all the settings info that was
not rig specific ( for example, not calibration data) so that you
can transfer your preferred settings easily to another K3.  Having 2
K3s, that would make pushing my new settings to the other rig
easier.  More importantly, it would also let me take the settings as
a guest operator to another K3 station, and let me then restore the
    original settings hassle free.

I so preferred by K3 to my IC-7800 that I sold the 7800 and bought
another K3 and P3; to date, this is the only feature I miss from my
    7800.

Thoughts?  Possibilities?

Thanks & 73 de Dave, W5SV

I never have a k3 failure due to power outages. All of my 12/13.8v equipment is
on a 100 amp power supply that trickle charges three Large industrial computer
backup batteries that are hooked to a solid state switch that transfers the
power connections from the PS to the batteries any time the power hiccups here.
That includes all those pesky wall wart cables that I cut loose from the warts.
