Good afternoon all, below is a link to a You-tube recording of my P3 picking something up and I am not sure what it is. Any input would be great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYS29ueN5nc Thanks for your input. Hi Mike,
It -may- be an ionospheric sounder. Most "sweep" (move) faster than this one, but it still may be one. There are thousands of them in operation all over the world. 73! I have heard similar sounds to yours too and followed them for a short while but not lately and definitely pre K3 days. I don't have a P3 yet so I don't have the visual. I wonder how far it really goes if you were to follow it down the band and one had the time and the general coverage it might be interesting to see oddities on the airwaves have always interested me as well as annoyed me. > Good afternoon all, below is a link to a You-tube recording of my P3 > picking something up and I am not sure what it is. I didn't hear anything as it swept across your receive frequency, but then, I'm almost deaf and I can't get YouTube up to afterburner roar so I can hear it. Sounders tend to move faster, but who knows what is really out there. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2012 Cal QSO Party 6-7 Oct 2012 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Occasionally I get the signal shown to the right of the one you are swhowing about. The wide low level one. During my investigation I found:
1 - it moves down in frequency ever so slowly like the one you pointed out. 2 - moving the VFO does not change the position of the noise - internal? 3 - reach back and approach the IF signal coax between the K3 & P3 causes it to go away and not come back 4 - changed out the coax still happens - occasinally It is wide band and I don't hear any noise when it crosses the VFO frequency. But reaching back in the proximity of the linking coax causes it to go away. Turning PC and other gear off has no effect. What is it? How do I stop it from occuring? 73, Bob - W6OPO |
Hi All,
Does anyone integrated Bandmaster 3 with K3 via ACC? I found some intructions on arraysolutions website here http://www.arraysolutions.com/images/K3%20SO2R%20System%20Cabling.pdf But looks like is not 3 of bandmaster, at least I was not able to locate on PCB all strappings. 73 VE3GNO Daniel ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
