Thanks to the helpful advice of Paul W0RW and the portable flexibility of the
KX1 I am now functional as a /PM when time allows. This past week I hit the
trail enjoying the beautiful fall colors in Missouri. Had my Hustler whip
bolted to a surplus Alice pack frame (1960's vintage Army pack frame)and have
been successful on 20 and 30 meters running barefoot at 2 watts. So far I have
8 states in the logbook including a special chat with QRP friend Dick W0NTA in
Colorado. So much fun and only 1 month into sunspot cycle 24! Now to build a
cap hat for the 40 meter whip.
