Prior to installing KIO3B, all my PCs and laptops interfaced properly with N1MM+ using FDTI serial to USB interface cables.
After installing KIO3B, I cannot get any PC or laptop to send CW and display the operating frequency - except my buddies Desktop running Windows 10 using the USB cable between the K3 and PC.
My Desktop is:
-Intel duo core 3.4Ghz
-8.00 GB RAM
-Windows 7 Home Premium, Service pack 1
Laptop:
-Intel duo core 2.0GHz
-1.0 GB RAM
-Windows XP Service Pack 3
Using V1.0.6006.0 N1MM on both laptop and desktop.
K3 firmware:
MCU 05.50
FPF 01.25
DSP1 02.87
DSP2 02.87
Using the USB cable supplied by Elecraft between my PCs and the K3, I can send CW via the keyboard function keys, but the operating frequency will NOT display. It puts me in manual mode.
If I configure the laptop and the K3 with a FDTI serial/usb cable, N1MM will display the K3 frequency, N1MM will key the K3 but will NOT send CW. I have tried all PTT settings on the K3 without success.
As an aside. If I interface my K3 to Desktop PC running TRX Manager, I have full functionality of K3 thru the TRX Manager. Note: TRX Manager does not send CW to the K3. So only telemetry is transferred between the two.
