We invite all ops to come help the North American QRP CW Club (NAQCC) celebrate its Fourth Anniversary.
How? By working our special event station N3A which will be active during the whole month of October. A handsome certificate and/or QSL card is available to everyone who works N3A and requests one or both. We also have 3 special certificates for the FISTS members who make the most different band QSO's with our N3A stations during the month and in the FISTS and NAQCC sprints. N3A will be operated from all 10 US call areas with the appropriate portable designator - N3A/1, N3A/2....N3A/0. All 10 calls will be active in the FISTS sprint on the 11th and our NAQCC sprint on the 14th (15th UTC). Full details including an operating schedule and how to request the certificate and QSL are on the "N3A Operation" page on the club web site - search "NAQCC" in your favorite search engine, or follow this link to our website (www.arm-tek.net/~yoel/main_n3a.html). Join us in celebrating our Fourth Anniversary, share the fun and earn a few certificates and special QSLs! This is also a good opportunity to join NAQCC. Lifetime membership is free and you will receive your membership number, membership certificate and starter kit FREE! No cost or obligation on your part. 73, Tom, WY3H (NAQCC President) John, K3WWP (NAQCC VP) _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Further to this one.
Details I missed out: Microham USB Interface 2, complete with Microham lead. When trying to TX WSJT tones for a test, I get the following results: On Data A, no signal at all. AFSK A, no signal at all. FSK D, solid tone when it should be alternating tones PSK D, sounds like PSK31 when it should be alternating tones I have the Microham 'PC out' lead plugged into the K3 Line in socket. The Microham 'PC in' lead is plugged into the K3 Line out socket and works as expected. While in data mode, The MIC SEL is Line In. So, I'm not sure what else I can look at... Looking at the wiring diagram for the USB keyer it seems you may have the audio
lines reversed. The Microham K3 cable labled Line OUT should connect to the K3 Line Out on the rear panel and the Line IN on the cable should go to the K3 Line In. It looks like the PTT line is connected to the K3 accy port. That's fine. Sounds like your PTT line is working correctly anyway. Swap the In and Out lines and you should be OK. ------------------------- 73, Greg - AB7R Whidbey Island WA NA-065 On Thu Oct 2 11:16 , "gd0tep" sent: >Further to this one. > >Details I missed out: >Microham USB Interface 2, complete with Microham lead. > >When trying to TX WSJT tones for a test, I get the following results: >On Data A, no signal at all. >AFSK A, no signal at all. >FSK D, solid tone when it should be alternating tones >PSK D, sounds like PSK31 when it should be alternating tones > >I have the Microham 'PC out' lead plugged into the K3 Line in socket. >The Microham 'PC in' lead is plugged into the K3 Line out socket and works >as expected. > >While in data mode, The MIC SEL is Line In. > >So, I'm not sure what else I can look at... > >Andy >http://gd0tep.com > >-----Original Message----- >From: [hidden email] >[[hidden email]','','','')">[hidden email]] On >Sent: 02 October 2008 17:02 >To: [hidden email] >Subject: [Elecraft] Elecraft K3 + Microham? > >A quick question to the group. > >Is anyone on here using a K3 and a Microham interface? > >Would appreciate an email regarding settings etc. > >Thanks, > > >Andy > >http://gd0tep.com > >_______________________________________________ >Elecraft mailing list >Post to: [hidden email] >You must be a subscriber to post to the list. >Subscriber Info (Addr. By the way, External interfaces are not used at all with the K3 in PSK-D mode.
This is only for PSK operation when sending with paddles connected to the K3's internal keyer. There is no provision for external keying of PSK-D as there is for FSK-D. So with your soundcard program you have available FSK-D (FSK), AFSK and Data-A. Use Data-A for PSK and any other audio based soundcard mode. Firstly, thanks to everyone who replied to me, either direct or via the
list. With a clear head and a fresh day, the K3 now transmits WSJT tones as expected. The major stumbling block was simple in the end... Always make sure there's sound coming out of the PC!! How it happened I can't say, I simply don't know, but the sound out was muted... Yeah, now don't I feel a dumbo :-) Once that was sorted, I had tones but only just... The next issue was 'line in' gain, further reading found the right setting in the menu to increase the gain and hey presto, it works fine! So, thanks to all who responded, all very helpful suggestions and ideas. 73 Andy http://gd0tep.com -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of gd0tep Sent: 02 October 2008 19:17 To: [hidden email] Subject: RE: [Elecraft] Elecraft K3 + Microham?
