IF NB of K3 is powerful, but i think if this had a continuous control
for level, it would be much more convenient. I have a old Icom IC-740 (great receiver) and NB continous level fight successfully against many paroxysmal interferences. It is cabling by step in hardware level in the K3? I think Elecraft prefer step control because so is reduced complexity, but K3 is not radio to the masses, it is radio to advanced ham radio. Another suggest is have possibility RIT/XIT control may have other roles, as live continuous control, for example, to move level of IF NB and DSP NB. Noise Blanker is really important to me because my neighborhood is plagued of noise typically treated with NB. Eduardo,
The K3 in my opinion is one for the masses. You can use as many or as few features as you wish. You can assign buttons to do only the specific things you want. Find someone nearby that has one then check it out. I love the receiver for eliminating so many issues I have had with other radios. I leave my TS20000 off most of the time and it has a good noise blanker. But not the simplicity on the front panel of the K3. All I have to do is push and hold the button and I have a variable very adjustable setup. It does seem to be involved, but that is why this web site has so much help to get you past any "complexity".
