I've been asked about using the display unit for remote. Both the W2 and my display unit use a straightforward rs232 port. I haven't done it yet, but connecting 2 serial devices over the internet shouldn't be that hard.

I’ve done that literally thousands of times. You’ll need terminal servers. Lantronix is a popular choice. You’ll also need a fixed IP on at least one end.
