Hello,
HRD runs fine remotely over my LAN. The host (server) PC is connected (via COM1) to the K3. But ... Minor detail escapes me: the K3 audio isn't getting to me at the remote PC. Audio output from the K3 goes into the host PC sound card, then comes out to a couple speakers local to the K3. I would assume that the HRD remote server would pickup that audio and ship it out over the LAN to be streamed to my remote PC along with the HRD display. Seeing the radio remotely is nice I suppose, but not much good if I can't hear it! I'm not too familiar with HRD yet, so I'm sure this is a simple option or setting I'm missing. Didn't see anything in the help file. Thanks for insight, Alan -- Alan D. From the HRD server docs: "The remote server does not support audio. For audio (or VOIP) the following options are available: SKYPE – www.skype.com, MSN Messenger, Audio streaming – for example the Helix Server – Basic from RealNetworks Inc. – www.realnetworks.com ." There's another option that I tried once because it even supports audio to a PocketPC client: Microsoft Portrait. http://research.microsoft.com/mcom/portrait/ . Also if you download the trial version of the LakeOfSoft VC components for Delphi, there are precompiled demo programs that can be used to stream audio between two computers. Perhaps someone should buy Simon a copy so he can incorporate this into HRD itself. :)

Thanks, Julian. Simple answer that I didn't see in the doc. Not what I
wanted to hear tho! Searched and found "IP-Sound" at http://www.dxzone.com/catalog/Software/Radio_Control/ The program was written for just such a situation. Thanks again, Alan Alan D. Someone just sent me a link to that, too. http://xoomer.alice.it/ham-radio-manuals/IPS-v0.57a-Finale.zip . I presume it is the same thing. I haven't tried it, but perhaps someone will find the link useful.

SOLUTION:
Loaded IP-Sound v0.57a (newest I could find) and it's running perfectly. (Listening to CHU at 7335 at the moment.) I really like the K3's pseudo-stereo feature, so I'm doing the PCM 8kHz stereo codec. It reports using about 33 kB/s bandwidth on the LAN (which is wireless down to the radio). Still yet to do: figure out HRD and how to do CW and PSK31 remotely. http://xoomer.alice.it/ham-radio-manuals/IPS-v0.57a-Finale.zip is the IP-Sound that I used. Alan Alan D. I tried my best to get that done a few months ago, but finally decided I was wasting too much time in a fruitless effort even with some other hams who tried to help. > > Thanks es 73, > > Steve Banks > K0PQ > Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile > > -----Original Message----- > From: "Alan D. Alan,
I am using HRD and IP sound for a 6 meter SSB remote base. Only problem is that the radio is a TS-2000, and the site is screaming for a K3 on 6! tom bosscher > Searched and found "IP-Sound" at > http://www.dxzone.com/catalog/Software/Radio_Control/ > The program was written for just such a situation. > > Thanks again, > Alan _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
