I've activated Bset but when I hold the NR button I don't get a Fx-x
indication for setting the Sub NR. Didn't see anything in the manual or scanning throught the Config settings. How is this done? tnx jim ab3cv (sub newbie) ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Jim,
Contrary to what the manual says, the state of NR is the same for both the Main RX and the SUB. Wayne has indicated that the manual is not correct in this particular aspect and will be corrected in the next manual revision. 73, Don W3FPR. Should have mentioned that I was unable to set Sub NR after loading beta
3.76 complete with new DSP FW. Sub works great otherwise. jim ab3cv On Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 11:07 PM, Jim Miller <[hidden email]> wrote: > I've activated Bset but when I hold the NR button I don't get a Fx-x > indication for setting the Sub NR. > > Didn't see anything in the manual or scanning throught the Config settings. > > How is this done? > > tnx > > jim ab3cv (sub newbie) > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Jim,
In that case it should work. Is there any chance you are in either DATA or FM mode? Noise Reduction is N/A for those modes. I don't have the sub here to try it, so perhaps someone who has the sub can try it on their K3 with 3.76 beta firmware. 73, Don W3FPR Jim Miller wrote: > Should have mentioned that I was unable to set Sub NR after loading beta > 3.76 complete with new DSP FW. > > Sub works great otherwise. > > jim ab3cv > > On Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 11:07 PM, Jim Miller <[hidden email]> wrote: > > >> I've activated Bset but when I hold the NR button I don't get a Fx-x >> indication for setting the Sub NR. >> >> Didn't see anything in the manual or scanning throught the Config settings. >> >> How is this done? >> >> tnx >> >> jim ab3cv (sub newbie) >> >> > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > Version: 9.0.730 / Virus Database: 271.1.1/2644 - Release Date: 01/25/10 02:36:00 > > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
It works. You have to be sure you have the Sub Rx turned ON when you
attempt to turn NR on or off using "b-set" 73, Ken K3IU K3 #202 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On 1/26/2010 8:58 AM, Don Wilhelm wrote: > Jim, > > In that case it should work. on my K3 with FW 3.76 loaded I can set NR settings with BSET for the
subreceiver, but it is then changed also for the main receiver. I can use NR on the main or sub or for both, but with the same NR settings for the same mode. 73! de Werner OE9FWV Don Wilhelm schrieb am 26 Jan 2010 um 8:58: > Jim, > > In that case it should work. With Sub Rx ON, I can toggle NR ON/OFF in Sub Rx using bset. This does
not affect the ON/OFF status of the Main Rx. However, when I change the NR setting (press/hold NR) of the SubRx, that changes both the SubRx and Main Rx setting... just as Werner reports below. 73, Ken K3IU ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On 1/26/2010 12:52 PM, Dr. Werner Furlan wrote: > on my K3 with FW 3.76 loaded I can set NR settings with BSET for the > subreceiver, but it is then changed also for the main receiver. NR settings are per-mode, but they'll be the same for a given mode on
each receiver. I.e., you can't (at present) have different NR settings for CW on main vs. CW on sub. NR on/off is per-band/per-receiver. This will be clarified in the next K3 manual (and before that, in the errata). 73, Wayne N6KR > > With Sub Rx ON, I can toggle NR ON/OFF in Sub Rx using bset.
