I'm working on a new QRQ CW mode that will provide full break-in and
improved timing accuracy at high CW speeds. Details later this week. Thanks for all the input on this topic. 73, Wayne, N6KR ---- http://www.elecraft.com ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Wayne, this is the best news I've heard from Elecraft in years, and I've heard some pretty good news from Elecraft in recent years. Tonight I learned that the KPA500 is in the works, and I was saddened to think that such a stellar setup (K3, P3, KPA500) was being developed and refined only to have CW performance that may (key word *may*) not be able to keep up with what is an otherwise superb QRQ CW station. You've made my day. Keep up the great work. --Andrew .. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Good news!
I just ran some more test. At 65 wpm it won't produce anything that resembles Morse code unless you engage XMIT mode. Break in speed has no effect on keying quality. Oh, the joy of having all that stuff in program code instead of
wave-soldered SMD discrete components. Wonderful news. 73, Guy. On Sun, May 16, 2010 at 8:31 PM, Steve Ellington <[hidden email]> wrote: > Good news! > I just ran some more test. As I said before - Elecraft is outstanding.
This kind of reaction is unknown here in Germany, and I'm confident that this will be a great solution. Wayne, would you put me on the list of beta testers for this update ? Martin DK4XL |

Just back from Deyton and solving problems for the amazing group of high
speed CW ops. Behold for you will not find this attention anywhere else. This response speaks volumes about Elecraft in general and Wayne in particular. Most manufacturers would write off any need for >50 WPM QSK because it probably represents 0.000001% of the total market. Wayne however is driven by the need for *excellence* in all areas, independent of the market being addressed. This is truly rare in any business today. 73, Bill |

I doubt that Wayne is even back from Dayton and he almost certainly was not back when he posted that information. I would not expect any small vendor at Dayton to be back in the office and in normal operation until the middle of the week unless the office was within a four hour drive of Dayton <G>. 73, ... > Any details yet? Hi Steve, QRQ (high-speed CW) mode is working very well in tests so far, and we hope to do a beta release in the next couple of days. Both internal and external keying up to 100 WPM are possible, with full QSK (RX recovery between code elements) up to about 70 WPM. Many testers have described it as the best QSK they've ever used. I'll send you the present field-test revision. 73, Wayne N6KR > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
