New product for KX3

Joseph Trombino, Jr
Howdy Gang:

I power my KX3 from an outboard LiFePo battery in my portable ops and don't need the KXBC3 battery charger module.

It would be nice not to have to set the TIME on the KX3 every time it is powered up and I was thinking about a simple plug-in board with a keep-alive battery on it that could be plugged into the KXBC3 slot.

Is this feasible or am I hopelessly lost in wishful dreaming??

If not for that reason alone it's worth the cost of the KXBC3. Personally I
wouldn't own a KX3 without one and I use an external battery also. A Belkin
10Ah battery with built-in charger and power plug that fits KX3. They are
small weigh about 4# and last a very long time, best part can be bought used
on eBay for about $20.

The price of the LifePo is outrageous for what it is and Ah's vs. weight
WOW!

I don't know if it's worth it for just the clock.  I wear a watch and have an iPhone -  that pretty much covers time questions 😃.

The real-time clock you want to "keep alive" is on the KXBC3 board.
