New to the K2

Kevin GraY-3
Just picked up a used K2.  Has the 100 watt option installed.

I am getting audio reports using the Heil mic that is sold from Elecraft
that my audio seems to have a lot of base to it.

Is that normal and is there any way to address this.  Also are than any
recommended mics for the rig besides the Heil.

Thanks

Kevin

Kevin,

First, you may want to check the placement of the filter passband in the
audio spectrum before making any conclusions.  See my website
http://w3fpr.qrpradio.com article on K2 dial calibration for the full filter
setting procedure.

If you still have too much bass content after aligning the OP1 filter, then
check out the KSB2 mods authored by Stewart Baker for reducing the low
frequency content.  See the Unofficial Guide to K2 modifications maintained
by Sverre Holm LA3ZA at http://www.qslnet.de/member/la3za/K2/mod.html for
more information.
