Next K2 Addon

Matt Palmer-4
I figured i would poll the peanut gallery, assuming in my next two
weeks where i have nothing better to do i can finish the K2 and get it
aligned quickly, I should have some extra pocket change, what is the
logical next step, auto-tuner or SSB board? (SSB will be used for psk
only)? All comments, advice and snide remarks are accepted and
appreciated!

I personally have no use for low power ssb, or high power ssb
for that matter, so the choice was easy, the antenna tuner
works a treat, and the K2 is very neat with it built in.

I have 2 antenna's and the tuner matches both on all bands and saves
the settings, so I can just cruse around the bands and not worry
about the antenna's.

Do the antenna tuner, then the ssb board for psk.

Matt,

The answer will depend on which you need and want most.
If you have resonant antennas and only a small need for the tuner, then
save the tuner for last.  But if you are using one or two multi-band
antennas at your QTH, the tuner will allow you quick antenna and band
changing.

OTOH, if you want the PSK31 capability as soon as possible, do the KSB2
first.

Matt
I personally believe the ATU is the slickest of all
the options created for the K2.  I just plain works!
Darned hard to find an antenna I can't find a match
for with the ATU.  This is particularly important
if you like to take your K2 on trips, Field Day,
or just an outing in the park.
Good luck and 73
