No Comp or ALC in SSB

Am I missing something or is there a problem when setting transmit mic level
(ALC) and compression in USB and LSB modes on my KX3?

I'm using a Heil Proset, get audio in the earphones while speaking into the
mic but cannot get any indication on either level meters no matter what CMP
or MIC levels I use. I have the latest firmware update installed.

Cliff,

All Prosets are not the same.  If it is a Proset-K2 or a Proset-iC (with
an electret element), turn bias on and try again.
If it is a Proset-HC4 or HC5 (dynamic element, bias should be off), the
output level is quite low, so you may have to set the mic gain quite high.
