Noise Reduction (NR)

Elecraft mailing list
I hope this isn’t a worn out question. I’d like to ask the group whether there is a favorite setting for NR? I know there are different conditions that might require different settings, but does anyone have a default setting?

Jimmy,

If all noise were equal, there would be an easy answer (and no need for
the various settings).
But the truth of the matter is that there are a huge variety of
different noise sources - rise time, duration, settling time, amplitude,
etc.
You will just have to experiment to find the best setting for each kind
of noise you are dealing with at the moment.
