Hi Jerry,
The red light after end-of-tune-up indicates a high SWR. This would
normally not cause any problem with the T1 since it has bypass
capacitors on all of the microcontroller leads. But you could have a
case of extreme RFI; it could be caused by a ground loop, or even a VHF
or UHF oscillation in the radio. Unusual but not impossible.
What power level are you using? You might try doing tune-ups at 2 watts
to see if your difficulties are proportional to power out.
