OK Computer gurus, a little help

James T. "Jim" Rogers, W4ATK
Is there a way to have the audio input (say K2 audio) to the sound card
"loop back" to the output. In other words if I patch the audio from the K2
to the sound card input to use CWGet, I would like to use the audio output
from the sound card to monitor the cw audio. The documentation on the sound
card in my hp zu1175 seems a bit sketchy, and no doubt this may be something
most people do not want to do.
Hey if that isn't clear, give me a break, I am, after all, sound card
challenged....

Thanks and 73,
Jim W4ATK

JEAN-FRANCOIS MENARD-2

Hi,

This is a computer software issue. Audio software normally have an option to
listen what your record or monitor from de line-in of your sound card. But
sometime, software do not offer it....

I have on my computer 2 softwares acting like a spectroscope.... One of them
offer me to listen to the sound that come from the line-in with the
line-out.... from my K2.... And the other one do not offer me the same
option....

Thanks guys,
For all the input. I knew I could depend on you. It just seems my sound
card setup on this laptop does not support that option. I built a little
isolation unit to connect the rig and the pc/sound card and provided for an
external speaker and a set of headphones. It is completely passive, but
works quite well. I included a pot so I regulate the level to the sound
card.

You can loop the audio back to the output in CWGet. Unfortunately, the time
delay on my computer is significant. I was unable to send CW because of the
delay.

You need to split the audio before it goes into the computer. A simple
y-connector works.
