OPush buttons

Tadeyev
It may seem like a picky or stupid thing to discuss, but I see the K3 has these
typical 'soft rubber' buttons all over the front panel.

My experience with all the electronics I have with these type of
buttons/keys are very bad.

The distance they travel is minimal, and have no 'click point' making
it necessary each time to check if a command has been properly input.
They also suck up grime like dirt-bugs and the symbols wear off fast.

I'm sure the Elecraft people chose the best available of this type,
but I would feel better if anyone who was at Dayton and might have
pressed a few buttons could tell us more about that point.

Ted,

The K3's front panel switches do provide positive tactile feedback, via
integral polydomes. The material we selected is rated for extended
lifetime (many decades, in this application), and the silver contacts
are fully sealed. As for the printed legends, they're protected by a
matte silicone hardcoat that's impossible to rub off.

In addition to the tactile feedback, we provide visual and audible
confirmation of every switch closure.
