Hello Group,
I go to Tokyo Ham Fair nearly every year. This year, I am thinking a visit to the Dayton Hamvention in US. Since I have no knowledge of Dayton, can any of you kindly advise what sort of scale of the Dayton Hamvention I should expect? Is it similar to the one held in Germany, Europe? Apart from Dayton, are there any tourist spots which I should visit as well after going the Hamvention? Any advise will be much appreciated. 73 and HNY!! Johnny,
Check here: http://www.hamvention.org/activities.php If you have any interest in aviation, You need to visit the Air Force Museum. Can't answer the comparative scale question, but you'll definitely do a lot of walking. The flea market has shrunk a bit, but probably, like the indoor vendors, will vary with the economy. QRPers attend FDIM. Contesters go to Contest University. There are banquets for DXers, Contesters, Top Banders and others. Most of the event related hotels are booked already. Access to a vehicle is a must. I hope to make it this year too. Hope we can have an eyeball QSO. My plans will be centered around contesting events. 73, Julius Unfortunately some of the events conflict with each other

QRP-ARCI has a bus between the QRP Hotel and the Hamvention on Friday & Saturday, so you really don't need a car! 72 73 Hank K8DD -- --- rm -r * --- ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I have compared pictures from the Dayton Hamvention, and the Tokyo Hamfest, and it appears that they are comperable to each other.
The pictures I saw, It looks as though more people attend Dayton than Tokyo, but I might be wrong. I'll just say this. My wife and I have attended every year for the past 3 years, and we have plans to continue attending for many years to come. We are never dissapointed. 73 Joe - KC9MLL |
