OT Handheld Antenna connector

Charles Greene-2
Hi,

This is off topic.  Can someone tell me the name of the antenna
connector on the newer VHF/UHF handhelds?  I have an IC-T8A and a
Kenwood TH-G71A and both have the same antenna connector.  Do they
sell adapters to a BNC and if so where?  I can't find one at RS, and
I don't know the name to search on in an electronic house catalog,
and the manufacturers do not have one.

Hi Chas,

It is called an SMA. There are adaptors widely available that have the
necessary SMA male plug fitted, the most common having a BNC female socket  on the
other end.
