Kevin Rock’s comments about his dad’s experience, and learning a great deal by working as a supervisor, etc., reminds me of some conclusions I drew from my own work experience. I developed certain “specialties” in my line of work, but I think I learned a heck of a lot more when I was asked to be an instructor in some of our company seminars. Preparing yourself to try and teach someone else seems to always force you to focus better on a whole lot of things. The whole process is even enhanced by the questions you get. It really makes you think! Anyway, I see a parallel in all of this.
