Apparently, Weller is offering a $20 rebate on their
famous model WTCPT, the one that works on the Curie
temperature principle. This is my favorite iron,
still, after almost 30 years, and I have had them all
(Edsyn, Hakko, Metcal, Pace, to name a few). A very
forgiving tool for the newbie, and a satisfying
experience for the ham of some tenure.
See:
http://www.hmcelectronics.com/cgi-bin/scripts/product/1980-0217/for an example of a final price of $92 on this iron.
My K1 and K2 were built with this model iron ... and
my HW-101 was built with the earlier model WTCPL, in
1979! ALL 3 radios are on the air and working great.
(Do soldering irons have mojo?)
All disclaimers, I paid more than this for mine, your
mileage may vary, objects in mirror are bigger, etc.
