Mass thermocouple generators are actually pretty
common in some applications. I'm retired from
a large electric utility and we've used them on
some mountaintops ... especially before solar
panels became more common and inexpensive.
A helicopter-flown tank of Propane would last a
LONG time. (:-)
As Ron has pointed out, they're common in some
parts of the world ... often as part of lamps.
