I have been plagued with noise spikes that show up on my P3 on certain
frequencies and have narrowed it down to a Belkin F4U017 USB hub. The problem is that my iMac only has four USB ports. It is definitely the hub and not the wall-wart power supply. Does anyone use an inexpensive hub with their iMacs that does not generate any noise? 73, Joel - W4JBB ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Hello All,
Since this is OT - I had a project in the 'shack' and I measured 48MHz and 480MHz on a spectrum analyzer and I didn't know where it was coming from. The project had a USB port that was unused - and that is where the noise was coming from. USB devices, if 'uncontrolled' - can create a lot of noise and issues when they are in close proximity to radio equipment. 73's, John AJ6BC On Wed, Nov 6, 2013 at 4:57 PM, Joel Black <[hidden email]> wrote: > I had a couple of suggestions. Can you share the recommendations? I have a USB 3 powered hub that I love but it generates terrible interference on 20m. I just realized this after your post.
