A bazillion years ago when I worked for ARRL, four of us bachelors on
the staff rented a big house in Farmington CT that had some land for
antennas. We called it the "Farmington Home for Unwed Amateurs".
Between us we managed to scrounge 90 feet of Rohn 25, a 402BA 40/20
meter beam, a 15 meter monobander, a Collins S-line, a homebrew dual
3-500Z kilowatt amplifier, some VHF/UHF SSB/CW gear and all the other
necessities for a nice ham station. None of us could have afforded it
on our own.
