Order of updates installation

louis a. ives
I have a K-3 that I will be updating with the following items, voice recorder, 2nd receiver, TCXO. I need some suggestions for the order in which to install. I don't want to have a installed item to be in the and have to remove more than once.

PSent from my iPad

Install the KRX3 last.  The others can be in any order.
Reason is that the KRX3 mounts on the upper portion of the K3 and must
be removed to install any options below it.

Louis,

DVR, TCXO, then 2nd Rcvr. You have to take the front panel off and apart to put in the DVR. The TCXO goes in behind the front metal partition, and the 2nd RX takes up the extra space in the middle. If you have any thoughts about adding filters, now is the time since to change the filters you have to remove the 2nd RX to get to them.

Re: Order of updates installation

Dick Dievendorff-4
Part of the second receiver is an aux DSP board that attaches to the main DSP board on the front panel.

So I'd install aux DSP board and DVR, then KCTXO3, then the L shaped steel can part of the sub. Just don't enable the 2nd Rx in the k3 menu until both parts of the sub are installed

Enjoy!
