P3 Applications

Willard Myers
Lyle (KK7P) and Al (W6LX) recently mentioned some nifty things we can do with our P3s. I’ve written up a couple of things that I did with mine: http://web.me.com/wlmyers/K1GQ/Documents.html. Please feel free to provide feedback on the documents.

Perhaps with the wider use of panadapters such a database could be promoted.
Something tells me that PLT would feature in there.

Re: P3 Applications

P.B. Christensen
The noise signatures in Bill's link are very characteristic of switch-mode
noise.  For example, take a look at the 80m NW sweep.  Classic switch-mode
noise where 'bumps" are seen at precise intervals of the power supply's
switching frequency.  At roughly -110 dBm, my guess is the source is not too
far away, even with his directional antenna.  A noise blanker does little
good with low-level switch-mode noise.
