I was experimenting with moving the VFO A frequency to the left side of the
display for PSK (a mode I don't normally use) and think I found a bug. I set the span to 4 kHz, and the left side of the display shows the correct VFO A frequency, 14070.0, and the right side correctly shows 14074.0, but the center shows 14070.0 instead of 14072.2. I saved a screenshot of the display with P3 Utility in case anyone wants to see it. Hi Jim, I set my P3 Span at 4KHz and set the rig frequency at 14.070 and I get different results: Left : 14.068.00 Center: 14.070.00 Right : 14.072.00 What am I missing in your post? 73, Tom Amateur Radio Operator N5GE ARRL Lifetime Member QCWA Lifetime Member On Sun, 3 Jul 2011 20:43:34 -0500, "Jim McDonald" <[hidden email]> wrote: >I was experimenting with moving the VFO A frequency to the left side of the >display for PSK (a mode I don't normally use) and think I found a bug. > >I set the span to 4 kHz, and the left side of the display shows the correct >VFO A frequency, 14070.0, and the right side correctly shows 14074.0, but >the center shows 14070.0 instead of 14072.2. > >I saved a screenshot of the display with P3 Utility in case anyone wants to >see it. > >Jim N7US > > > > >______________________________________________________________ >Elecraft mailing list >Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft >Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm >Post: mailto:[hidden email] > >This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net >Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Hi Jim,
I'm using 1.09 but I believe this will also apply to 1.08. If VFO A is on the left side of the screen then you must be in Fixed-Tune mode. In that mode, the left frequency display shows the lower frequency limit. The right display shows the upper frequency limit. The center display shows the K3 frequency. So if the K3 frequency happens to also be 14070.0 then the center display will be the same as the left display. If you move VFO A you will see the center display change while the left and right displays remain fixed. 73, Mike K2MK

Understood! Thanks, Mike.
I could and should use that mode for split-frequency pileups, and I tried on a "foreign" mode, PSK.
