Since installing version v.1.05 beta firmware in my P3 I've noticed
that any function I assign to the FN7 HOLD key gets erased whenever the P3 gets powered-off. FN7 TAP assignments, as well as all other function key TAP or HOLD functions, are not effected by powering off. Anyone else see that? 73, Gene N9SW ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
No problem with that here.

Since getting this, I just checked mine and no anomaly here, all function keys retain whatever function was assigned prior to power off.

Gene,
I don't see it. Perhaps the firmware needs to be reloaded. Could have been corrupted during update from any number of things. I have had that happen a couple times in the past, not with P3 but with my W2. Gene, if you haven't done so, write down your menu setting then do the
parameter re-initialization as per Page 26 of the current Manual on the Elecraft Website. I had the same problem as yours, plus a whole lot more, when I did a download of 1.05. They all went away with the parameter reset (a suggestion which came from Alan N1AL) and my P3 has been stable ever since. That is a simple procedure that probably we should all remember exists. I unnecessarily fought with my P3 for 48 hours during ARRL DX CW contest because I had forgotten that a potential fix was easily available to me. 73, Gary, VE1RGB -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Gene Sochor Sent: February 28, 2011 11:36 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] P3 Beta v1.05 anomaly? One bit of clarity would be for posters to identify whether "off" is done on
the P3 button, or done by turning off the power supply. 73, Guy. Thanks to those who responded to my post regarding power-off loss of
stored hold function on FN7 with v1.05 P3 firmware. A parametric reset solved the problem. For the record, the event occurred when powering off from the P3 alone or by using the K3. 73, Gene N9SW ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
