P3: Enabling SVGA makes display jerky when using narrow span

Stephen G4SJP
I have not noticed this before, and I often reduce the span down to 5kHz or
so when I am calling a DX station spilt.  On both the P3 and the external
1024x768 monitor, instead of a nice smooth waterfall, it is jerky in its
motion and the only setting that I can find to prevent this happening is
the one that disables the external display.

I am running firmware version 1.25.

Any ideas?

Hi Stephen,

Try taking the P3 out of fixed tune and using tracking mode.  At narrow spans the SVGA will require more time to sample and process the separate 2048 point FFT.  In fixed tune both displays are 'lock stepped' to each other, while in tracking mode they are not.
