P3 IQ output

Edward R Cole
This was one of my questions to Wayne before purchasing my K3.  He
did state that it would be accessible eventually via the P3.  But I
decided to go with the LP-Pan and use computer sw for panoramic
display of spectrum (and other things).  I had thought I could use
the SDR embeded in the K3 but there is no easy way to tap the IQ data
stream and K3 audio is recombined so the quadrature info is lost.

But to get more than a 15-KHz bandpass one really needs to tap the
1st IF like the P3 and LP-Pan do.  I have a SDR-IQ so could use it
but I needed to have two channel diversity receive and two SDR-IQ
cannot accomplish that.  Two LP-Pan slaved to one LO can.  I am still
working on accomplishing this: http://www.kl7uw.com/LINRAD.htm

Most do not need dual IQ data streams so merely breaking out the
sub-Rx IF will permit the P3 to display either Rx.  To use other SDR
sw  you will either have to wait for the IQ to be implemented in the
P3 or go with a separate SDR on the IF.
