We had nice aurora conditions here tonight and it was interesting to see how the bandwidth of the CW signals had increased on the P3's display compared to normal CW. See http://la3za.blogspot.com/2011/08/aurora-50-mhz-and-electraft-p3.html

Very good images Sverre, thanks for putting them up! Actually some of those
wide spectrums look like some of our boat anchors that you hear (widely) on the bands these days! So far, the only thing I've noticed from the flares is that suddenly 20m went almost completely dead for a short while. Right now (0340z) 10m is at -140dBm; 15m is at -136; and 20m is at -114 dBm. But it seems to not have lasted very long. Thanks for the images! 73, Tom - W4BQF -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Sverre Holm (LA3ZA) Sent: Friday, August 05, 2011 6:49 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] P3 and aurora We had nice aurora conditions here tonight and it was interesting to see how the bandwidth of the CW signals had increased on the P3's display compared to normal CW. Thanks Tom
The P3 utility's ability to copy the display of the P3 and make it into a BMP-file is really nice for getting images like these, especially if the interface is run at a high rate like 38400 bps.
