I sometimes use the A/B to switch between the CW and phone section of a band. I like to set the P3 to FixMode and adjust the right edge to align with the band edge, say 14.000.0. So if I set VFO A to 14.025 in CW mode and switch to VFO B at 14.240 also in CW mode I can switch back and forth and the edge shown on the P3 stays set to 14.000.0. However, if VFO B is set to 14.250 in USB, when I switch back to VFO A the edge shown on the P3 changes to 14.001.5? Huh? Otherwise, I like to new cursor and improvements. 73s, Al, K6IV ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
I made exactly the same observation to Alan N1AL. He managed to persuade me
that it had always been like that ;-) 73 Stephen G4SJP On 19 June 2011 06:25, Corin & Alan <[hidden email]> wrote: > > > I sometimes use the A/B to switch between the CW and phone section of a > band. Alan, I'm sorry to say this but nothing seems to have changed for me in the
rounding off. It will be interesting to note what others find. 73 Stephen G4SJP On 23 June 2011 07:21, Alan Bloom <[hidden email]> wrote: > Actually, there was a bug introduced in 1.08. Does the rounding off change with the various settings of FINE,
COARSE, either on the front panel or CONFIG:VFO CRS, or mode? 73, Guy. Guy,
None of those settings make any difference as far as I can see. 73 Stephen On 23 June 2011 19:16, Guy Olinger K2AV <[hidden email]> wrote: > Does the rounding off change with the various settings of FINE, > COARSE, either on the front panel or CONFIG:VFO CRS, or mode? > > 73, Guy. > > On Thu, Jun 23, 2011 at 2:55 AM, Stephen Prior <[hidden email]> > wrote: > > Alan, I'm sorry to say this but nothing seems to have changed for me in > the > > rounding off. In reply to this post by Guy, K2AV
The "odd" frequency limits appear to be related only to changing between fixed and tracking modes. When switching from tracking to fixed, the display frequency limits are "fixed" at the "odd" values based on (VFO A +/- span/2) instead of being forced to the correct "round" (5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100 KHz) value for the current span. Since the fixed/track mode is stored on a per band basis, stepping through the bands will screw up the frequency limits when moving from a fixed band to a track band and back. This behavior has not changed even with the most recent (private) firmware release. Simply put, when changing from tracking to fixed mode, the LF end of the display range should be set to the "correct" round value - offset from the bottom of the current band by a multiple of span/2 to place VFO A in the center half of the span. The VFO A cursor should be shifted to accommodate "round" display limits (as if the mode had already been fixed) rather than creating "odd" limits around the "centered" position of the VFO A cursor. In addition, Fixed/Track should be a global setting .... 73, ...
